The Cambridgeshire Helice/ZZ Championship was held at Rugby and District Trap Club on a very windy Saturday August 17th. The level of the wind was easily seen from the speed with which the wind turbines were spinning and the huge number of targets which were broken .... only to sail swiftly over the fence. John Nightingale said he had never seen so many targets lost in that way on one competition!

30 shooters turned out, including seven from Cambridgeshire, despite a weather forecast of heavy rain after midday - which, fortunately, did not materialise! The wind was a real challenge, resulting in lower than usual scores, but the atmosphere was good. Scores were close but the eventual winner was Graham Carter with 15 ex 20. Well done Graham. Rod Gifford was Veteran winner on 14 and Michele Conway was the highest scoring Lady with 13.
